3D PRINTING EGG IS ONE OF NASHVILLE’S TOP 3D PRINTING SERVICE PROVIDERS.
3D Printing begins with a 3d model representing the object you wish to create. This model can be designed using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as Fusion 360, Zbrush or Blender, or it can be captured using 3D scanners to make an exact replica of an existing object. The files are saved in either an STL or an OBJ format.
Once created, the file is ran through a software package called a slicer. 3D Printing Egg uses Simplify3D, one of the top slicing programs available on the market. The slicer takes the file and virtually cuts the virtual object into thousands of horizontal layers. These layers are then fed into the 3D printer, which follows the layer lines to recreate the object, one layer at a time.
